it's time to fly - United
As America tunes into the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, United will debut five commercials that capture the spirit of how relaxing and rewarding international travel is when flying in United's new first and business class cabins.
"Heart" portrays the connection between a husband and wife and United's role in reuniting them.
United's new commercials celebrate the ongoing rollout of its new international service that provides customers with flat-bed seats in first and business class, on-demand entertainment and gourmet cuisine. The ads are the latest addition to United's "It's Time to Fly" campaign that makes distinct emotional connections between United and business travelers -- specifically those in international first and business class.
Smooth flight until
Smooth flight until we reached Denver. We had some rough winds and a lot of air pockets on approach to DEN. UAL served snacks and kept us refreshed with drinks the whole way, unlike some airlines (cough) US Airways (cough).

Charge for a second bag
New York - You might want to pack light, at least if you're flying United Airlines.
This week, America's second-largest carrier became the first major US airline to charge passengers for checking a second piece of luggage. Its goal is to offset the high cost of jet fuel, which has more than doubled since 2000.
Other airlines are watching the move, and some analysts suggest they'll soon follow suit. But other aviation watchers aren't so sure. Charging passengers an extra $50 round trip may simply be a push too far for the flying public. Besides regular delays – 2007 was the second worst on record – fliers have already had to trade in free meals, pillows, and blankets – to say nothing of legroom – for low-cost tickets.
