Poor economy
I agree with Chartois Remy that Emirates economy seating is a disgrace. They have packed 10 rows across the 777-300 when it was designed as a 9 across plane. Emirates have also removed the footrests, no doubt to save weight due to the extra passengers it has squeezed in, so your your legs are sore after many hours of dangling in mid air.
To add the discomfort, the flight attendants only appear at meal times and if you want a drink you must either press the cal button or get up to find it yourself. Due the regulations preventing passengers taking their bottles of water on to the plane, it is more important than ever that flight attendants offer water to passengers to rehydrate them.
I am never flying with them again. My next flight is in SQ, so hopefully they will live up to the hype of their advertising.
Emirates seatings
Whoever has ever given any award to Emirates must have never set a foot in economy class. (It’s a fact Emirates has never won any award for Economy Class !)
Recently flew EK 751 from Dubai to Casablanca, October 12th, Seat 21G to be the worst flying experience in over 30 years of travel. Arriving from Singapore and unlucky for me, the flight was full with returning Pilgrims from Mecca. Did inquire twice during the chaotic boarding for an unlikely upgrade even with a cash payment but was abruptly told every class was fully booked, but later saw a Lady during the flight being upgraded unconditionnaly after her back seat partner complained about her !! and the First Class Cabin full of relocating Pilots.
The 10 seats abreat on Emirates Boeing 777s is a complete Insult and another prove that Emirates has no concern to Economy class passenger confort. Was seated next to a slightly overweight passenger and was pushed back toward the aisle the entire flight, unable to find a suitable position to rest or sleep on this eight hours trip and just let being bumped and hit the entire flight by other guests , trolleys and rushing crew members and won’t mention the struggle to try to eat Your meal ! Had better seating on some official Charter airlines and Emirates is just one of them for me.
My sincere advise to whoever is flying to the Gulf or anywhere in the world via the Gulf, DO NOT fly Emirates !! You’re better off with Gulf Air, Qatar or Etihad; even Kuwait and Saudia would be a better alternative. Beside Dubai airport is a complete disaster; even at the early hours of the morning it is impossible to find a single chair to sit on. Chairs are there but all with in transit passengers sleeping under them and seems like they’ve all been here for days waiting for I don’t know what ! Would definitly never fly Emirates again unless drastic improvements are made in their seating arrangements and wondering now how many seats abreast will there be on their A380 ?? 11 ? 12 may be ?? Good Luck !!
Very discriminating airline.
Very discriminating airline. I witnessed it in june 2006 when an african crew was offloaded in front of my very on eyes in business class. I overheard their conversation where she was accused of fighting a fellow crew in the cabin. That was all untrue.I followed up on it through emirates website but no reply.
Emirates airline
Emirates needs to be more even. I have had wonderful flights as well as dreadful flights. You never know what you are going to get. I am a long haul business class passanger from Europe to the Middle East and New Zealand/Australia. I need to know what to expect. I need to be able to rely on quality as I fly so much. I need to expect full lie down sleepers on ALL long distance hauls not just some of them. I need top quality service and my champagne !
